Title:
Training & Development Specialist
Duties: Plan, organize, direct, develop,
implement, and conduct training programs for company employees to
ensure employees have the required skills to perform their jobs safely
and correctly. Ensure company is in compliance with federal and state
regulations governing the construction and steel erection industry
with respect to training programs. Confer with operations management
to determine specific training objectives. Write bilingual
(Spanish/English) training program materials, including outline, text,
visuals, handouts, and tests and present bilingual (Spanish/English)
training programs to company’s workforce. Develop methods of
validating and documenting the effectiveness of the training program
and prepare such reports for management and OSHA compliance.
Secondarily responsible for pre-screening applicants for hourly jobs,
reviewing the performance of hourly employees, and reporting on job
performance to foremen and management for performance award purposes.
Requirements: Communications, Human
Resources, or Labor Relations and five years of progressive experience
in the job offered or in human resources and industrial training in
the manufacturing or construction setting. Must demonstrate excellent
written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills.
Must be able to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish.
