About Us

Who We Are

Founded in 1985, Basden Steel was established to provide for the structural steel needs of the construction company. By having fabrication and erection operations within the same company, we offer our customers complete and seamless service.

This element is a tradition respected and highly valued by any Basden customer. The Engineer New Record has named Basden Steel as an ENR top 600 specialty contractor for 7 straight years.

What We Do

Pre-bid Services
Basden Steel offers complete pre-bid estimating and design assistance for development of the structural steel package. Our sales and estimating team evaluates the project in design, giving suggestions to the contractor involving conceptual pricing, value engineering, and pre-staging of equipment. This allows the customer to design the job with an informed perspective on the effects of the structural steel.
Superior Planning and Coordination
From the day of the award, we will work with your representative to develop a construction sequence to best fit your needs. This sequence will be suited to detail, fabricate, and erect the project to achieve the earliest possible completion dates and to put other trades to work as soon as possible. Our unique ability to sequence delivery and coordinate our in-house erection team provides you the best delivery available, living up to our promise of seamless service.
Leading Edge Detailing and Structural Modeling
Our staff of in-house detailers utilize the industry's most sophisticated software, SDS-2 by Design Data. This program allows us to create 3-D models of complex projects for your team's analysis. Contact our engineering representative early in the project to learn how we can streamline the job with this technology.
Modern Fabrication Facility Utilizing CNC Automated Equipment
Basden has two fabrication shops that can reach a good portion of the southern United States. In Burleson, Texas, our 60,000 square foot fabrication plant is located just minutes from Gerdau Ameristeel, one of the world's most efficient steel mills. Using our own trucks, we are able to draw from virtually unlimited resources of mill product. The shop utilized CNC controlled beam and angle line machinery from controlled automation as well as our Python X Robotic Plasma Beamline. Operating in Oklahoma, the Claremore plant is a 41,000 square foot facility that houses two CNC beamlines along with a larger truss manufacturing capability and offers added efficiency and productivity to the quickly growing Basden family and its customers.
AISC Certification
Basden Steel is the only Texas-based steel company that currently holds certified fabricator and advanced certified erector designations from the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). This certification is only awarded after extensive review and audit by the AISC of a prospective company's quality, safety, and training procedures. In addition to being quality certified, our company also received commendations for planning processes, training programs, and bilingual communications. For more information on this certification, please visit the AISC website by clicking on the logo below.
Superior Safety Program
Basden Steel is committed to having zero accidents, occupational injuries or property damage on its projects. This is achieved by: - Understanding and executing our role in effecting safety as required by each project's safety plan, OSHA, SENRAC (Steel Erection Negotiated Rulemaking Advisory Committee) rules, and U.S. Department of Labor. -Training our employees (I.E. CDZ, rigging, etc.) and following up through weekly safety meetings, videos, publications, seminars, etc. This enables the to observe and implement safety rules as described in our safety program and handbook. - Heavily incentivizing our employee's safety practices by offering safety prizes including a truck given away at our annual Christmas party.
